Tarot Draw of the Day: 12/31/18

Today’s daily draw is the Page of Cups.

I love this card so much. One thing that I really like about the Shadowscapes deck is that they really emphasize how the images make you feel, rather than a hard and fast rule as Page of Cupsto what the card means. Each card is saturated with meaning and imagery, but that is only to help you with your own interpretation. I know many other decks are like that as well, but this one really speaks to me on a deeper level for some reason.

While I didn’t have a specific question in mind, I did just want a bit of insight getting ready to go into the new year. I have lots of goals and really needed some encouragement. I always make goals, but that doesn’t mean that I ever keep them. When I saw this card, I immediately related to it. This beautiful creature has a bowl of something enticing. She is holding it to her face, breathing in deeply, and anticipating partaking of what’s inside. That is how I feel right now. I am reaching out to the new year, taking a deep breath, and anticipating jumping right in. I am looking forward to it, feeling relatively calm about it, and waiting to take a deep drink. The colors of this card also speak to me, the purples and blues, as they are my favorites.

The interpretation from the artist speaks to this beautiful mermaid seeking peace and solitude deep below the waves. She wants to find that inner peace to fully enjoy the world around her. Understanding, intuition, and a desire to believe the impossible. I can’t think of a better card to prepare me for the new year.

Welcome to My Crooked Little Path!

Hello and well met! Some of you may be coming here from my book blog, Life With No Plot. If so, welcome! If not, welcome as well!

This blog will be more of a personal nature, mostly some of my insights as I am working on learning how to read tarot. For this, I will be using the Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore. I just got this deck and it is beautiful. I have admired Stephanie’s art for a long time, but having Barbara’s words to go with it is a perfect match.

There will be other stuff, I am sure. Not necessarily an every day thing, although if that’s what happens, that works too.

Wishing everyone brightest blessings for 2019!
